Children’s Institute Expanding Behavioral Health Services

logo2The Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh is adding a new inpatient unit for children with “urgent behavioral health needs who also have a chronic or complex medical condition and/or developmental disability.” The expansion project will be led by Aileen Peralta Oandasan, MD.

The goal of the program is to stabilize the child’s symptoms while simultaneously moving the child and family towards self-regulation. The Children’s Institute accomplishes this through a multidisciplinary approach, addressing the body, mind and spirit with equal importance.

LEAD Pittsburgh is pleased to see behavioral health options for children expanding in our area.
